Who we are

At Vukile, we strive to be a centre that provides growth for all of our stakeholders.

We’re a high-quality, low-risk, specialist retail real estate investment trust (REIT) with a geographically diversified portfolio of property assets valued at R50 billion, of which 65% is based in the Iberian Peninsula.

Of the R50bn of total property assets, 35% consist of urban, commuter, township and rural malls across South Africa, while 65% are held in Spain and Portugal through the Madrid-listed subsidiary Castellana Properties Socimi.

2020

Upgraded Pine Crest and Maluti Crescent, acquired Mdantsane City and increased our stake in Springs Mall.

2019

Created The Dream Room with the Reach for a Dream Foundation.

2018

Launched Vukile Academy and acquired retail parks in Spain through Castellana Properties.

2016

Expanded outside southern Africa with the acquisition of 26.1 % of Atlantic Leaf Properties.

2014

Acquired 50% of East Rand Mall and relaunched Randburg Square.

2013

Vukile becomes the first property company awarded REIT status by JSE.

2011

Laurence Rapp becomes CEO and the Vukile property portfolio is valued at R5.3 billion.

2010

Acquired nine properties from Sanlam Life.

2007

Vukile listed on Namibian Stock Exchange, completed MICC acquisition.

2004

Vukile Property Fund listed on the JSE Securities Exchange.
